ABOUT ReElise

The world's first Christian Hip Hop RPG!.. Pretty confident about that claim. Check out the story, and characters below

Overview

This is an old school RPG. Those who love collecting and gettin' strong, you'll love this game! This world is full of secrets, tough-as-nails bosses, secret bosses, different endings, and a weapon upgrade system where you must battle your character's super ego so that your weapon can transform (say hello to your new attacks). Instead of the dreaded "dungeon crawling", I want the player to actually be excited about going into a dungeon. There's tons of scrolls containing unique and powerful techniques that you can equip for any character you want. Also, remember those lovely fetch quests you HAD to go through in order to progress? None of that foolishness. You're encouraged to find great stuff, get stronger, and progress, plowing through whoever gets in your way! This also has an interesting feature not found in a lot of RPGs. An upgrade system that allows you to progress through previously blocked areas. Think Metroid-like elements without a ton of back tracking. There's also Rap Battles.... because I can. This is where you pick the best diss from series of choices and based on the appearance of the rapper in front of you.

F.A.Q

Is this for Kids?

NO! This is rated "T" for teens and up. Parents are strongly cautioned.

Is it still a Christian game if it has language and violence?

God NEVER censored human behavior in His Word, so I won't either. Even though you can consider the Bible an R-rated book, it's still considered Holy. Creating a campy world where nothing "too serious" happens doesn't effectively show a fallen creation that's in need of a savior.

Why marginalize your product by making it (of all things) Christian!?

It's not marginalizing if it's good. The Sistine Chapel has God and angels all over it, yet that's not hailed as a great "Christian" work, just a great work. Same could be said with The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I'm a Christian that's inspired by Christ who wants to make a great game. We're all allowed to create what we're inspired by...it just needs to be good. :)

So what other project have you COMPLETED?

Black Simulator is a satirical game where you attempt to run 3 different errands without getting shot or arrested by the police. Currently available on Steam and the Amazon App store.

Shouldn't you be encouraging active ministry instead of sittin' around playing games?

Any media can inspire and encourage if it's done in the right spirit. Was that not the motivation of Fireproof, Courageous, Faith like Potatoes, Seven Days in Utopia, and others Christian films? Those films inspired and changed lives which lead to ministry. A game can do the same.

Story

El is the creator of all things. In Ether, He created the powerful and beautiful Unseen. In sensory creation, He made Beast and Mankind, both, from His abundance. Among the first created Unseen, there was one who wanted to overthrow El. He named himself, Ura-El. Their great cosmic coup (with a legion of Unseen) didn't get off the ground before El simply cast all the defectors out to Earth. Some say this is where the real battle first started, with El's dearly loved mankind caught in the middle.

Several centuries later, a ruthless man named Tyre takes over the world. He had somehow obtained a blade that was thought to have been only a myth, the Satori Blade. This sword had enough power to slice a planet in half! No one dared challenge the "Monster King". One day, a young boy named Shaddai had his destiny placed in his spirit allegedly by El. Years later, he grew enough nerve to go out on his journey to save the world. Along the way he met a beautiful sword master, a vigilante sage, and rescued a young orphaned martial artist. Together, they set out to do the impossible. Saladin always told them El would make it possible. As the final battle broke out, Shaddai's sword transformed into the sword of El Himself, and struck down Tyre with it. The blow was so mighty it shattered Tyre's Satori Blade into pieces. The Monster King of the world was dead. Shaddai was appointed to be the new King of the World, because everyone he had encountered on their travels knew he was a righteous man. Peace was thought to finally come to the land, but, it didn't. Thirty years after Tyre was brought down a young girl named Elise settles in her mind to rid the world of all evil... she just has to overthrow King Saladin to do it. Pick up your controller.

Your crew during this journey plans to overthrow King Moshia Saladin, and destroy all evil with the mystical Judge's Key kept around his neck at all times. The Judge's key is said to judge all evil and eradicate it. However, to even stand a chance against the powerful Saladin, you must gather the seven shards of the shattered Satori Blade. These shards are guarded by Saladin's most powerful warriors. Even with such a capable group of warriors...in numerical terms, the chances of success against an entire Empire are about 4%. However, Elise's resolve is always at 100%.

Elise

Taken from her home as a child by bandits (Big Row), she was a concubine often used as a prostitute for 7 years. She endured this horror in the hope that one day she would be free and get revenge on all of the bandits that stole her life. There she met a young girl named Lead who had been there since she could remember. They become very close, and through a freak twist of fate Lead gains incredible power while out on an errand. Together they escape, but not before killing every one of the bandits. The revenge left her empty. She knew the kind of evil that happened to her would happen to others, so she decided to find a way to wipe out the evil. The path was revealed upon meeting Sho. He knew of a treasure King Saladin had that would erase all evil. However, it's kept around his neck at all times. Believing Sho, she sets off with Heris and Lead to take this treasure that will rid the world of evil. She's determined for there not to be anymore victims like herself and Lead.

Heris

An avenger. Saw his parents murdered by a corrupt Captain of the Guard, Yearly. Heris swore revenge. He trained hard and joined the military. Heris waited for a chance to get revenge on Yearly as he built his strength in the meantime. Eventually, Yearly is exposed by eye-witnesses of his atrocities, and Heris has his revenge. However, despite his actions to bring peace, it still eludes the land. He thinks of quitting his military position when he runs into a young lady named Elise. She spars with him to test his strength, thinking an officer could help her. Harris defeats her, but Sho intervenes. He tells them of their goal to eliminate evil. Heris agrees to help them only because when he looks into Elise's eyes he is disturbed at the suffering caught in them. He decides, "no more eyes like these".

Lead

Lead was swapped out from a family friend's daughter and offered as payment to a group of bandits called Big Row at the age of 3. She was used as a spy in various villages, playing off the people's kindness. Once she knew what valuables were available she would send a message to their leader Dudley to raid that village or town. When she was 16, she met one of the new concubines from a recent raid, Elise. Lead really enjoyed being around Elise because of the hope Elise held firmly throughout her imprisonment. One afternoon the two were out gathering food from the garden when a rock flew into Lead's left eye! Once she regained consciousness she felt a very strange power growing inside her. The two girls worked to develop the power, and with that strength matured they annihilated Big Row. Lead is willing to follow Elise wherever she goes, and supports her with her very life to rid the world of evil.

Sho

A mysterious vigilante that has very unnatural abilities. He also seems to know far more than he should about a great many things. He too though, seems to be on a mission to rid the world of evil. He meets Elise and Lead one day. He listens to their mission, and Sho tells them about the Judge's Key. A treasure that's said to wipe out all evil that hangs around the King's neck. He assures them the only way to get a hold of that item is to defeat King Saladin in combat. With more determination than brains, Elise doesn't back down from the challenge. Sho confines in Elise she must be far more ruthless for such a task. Heris suspects Sho is after more than just peace...

These are the Seven Guardians of the seven shards of the Satori Blade, the most powerful sword created outside of El's own hands. The shattered blade could not be destroyed, so King Moshia Saladin commissioned his most powerful warriors to protect the shards to prevent the sword from becoming whole again. To many though, they're just as fiercely powerful as the treasure they guard. Now, go get'em!

Bakari

Seventeen-year-old son of a famous judge who has a rare gift of a powerful form of Glory. However, because of his privileged life, he had no motivation to do anything, which greatly disgusted his hard working father. In an intense, frustrating argument with his father, Bakari swings at him only to strike his mother who attempted to break them up. Furious, his father throws him in jail for 4 years. During this time, he makes a promise to himself to become a Cerberus, and make his father proud upon his release from prison. He fulfills his promise, but his father's hatred still remains. He pushes himself to terrifying limits to gain his approval. His passionate apology...

Anki

Rescued from bandits by Moshia on one of their adventures 30 years ago, Anki falls in love with him and vows to be his wife. When she finds out that he's married, she seeks to grow up to become strong enough to overthrow the queen and become the king's new woman. Not only that, she has plans to use the Judge's Key to bring a perfect world. She often wonders why Moshia never uses it...

Lazurus

He is a genius who makes many discoveries that prospered the Kingdom. As a typical engineer, he had always been more interested in things than people, with the exception of his dearly loved wife. However, because he didn't have the funds he needed to develop a cure for her condition, she died. Now he seeks to revive her by attaining one of the top positions in the land--a Cerberus. He infiltrates the king's court as an eager scientist. Moving up the ladder with tremendous speed, he uses classified research to make himself very powerful, while searching for a way to raise the dead. Eventually, Moshia reluctantly appoints him a Cerberus, and lets him head the science division. However, getting everything he's ever needed in research, he quarantines his post, and sinks himself into the research of bringing back his dead wife. He is known as the "Dead Man Walking".

Ruth

Ruth had a very rough early start in life. As a child, her parents were killed in a farming accident. She was then taken into an abusive orphanage. Ruth was forced into hard labor, and as she got older the "caretakers" were attempting to sell her into prostitution to fund their growing "Hero" drug. That's when Moshia Saladin came seemingly out of nowhere, thwarted their plans, and freed everyone. She pledged herself to him, and joined Saladin's team to save the world from Tyre. Ruth now is one of the most devoted Cerberus, and the most feared.

Peakokk

Peakokk is the only son of Timgawd. He loves his father dearly...he was his hero. He wanted to see him succeed in his plans for world domination. However, the defeat suffered at the hands of Moshia has Peakokk plotting revenge and ultimately attempting to accomplish what his father could not. Thinking his father was dead after his epic conflict with Moshia, he trained obsessively to avenge him. When he learns that Timgawd is alive and became a Cerberus to defend the kingdom, it throws him into great confusion. Peakokk then strives to become a Cerberus for Moshia (who is now king), but as a powerful spy. When the father and son meet again, Peakokk is disgusted at his father's faith in Cied El. Peakokk's plans have not changed at all.

Leab

A fierce warrior from her village, she bests Moshia in combat upon their first meeting. He then asks her to join him to overthrow Tyre. Shocked at his honesty she declines, but when Tyre's guard betrays her village (which had been loyal to Tyre) she accepts. On their travels, they fall in love with each other, but hid their feelings for the sake of the mission. Once Moshia finished his fight with Tyre, then Timgawd, she asked him to marry her. Stunned, and barely conscious he said, "Sure". They marry, and she maintains her strength in order to help defend the kingdom. However, their marriage is strained with the inclusion of their new Cerberus member, Anki.
